Occupational Therapist, Registered OTR

The Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) evaluates clients, develops plans of care, performs occupational therapy treatments, and supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). This position assists clients to improve their ability to perform daily living tasks, basic motor functions and cognitive abilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Provide evaluation and treatment of various diagnoses/disorders in accordance with physician orders.
2) Serve as a resource for clients, caregivers, and staff.
3) Provide day-to-day supervision, contribute to performance appraisals, and delegate work assignments for Occupational Therapist Assistants and Occupational Therapy students.
4) Create and maintain a variety of client documents to meet Federal, State and regulatory compliance, including evaluations, progress notes, discharge summary, and supervisory/observation notes.
a. Review and chart improvement reports on clients, including progress toward identified objectives.
5) Develop, implement and assist in new program/techniques to enhance occupational therapy services as directed.
 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Credentials
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in Occupational Therapy required.
• Must be licensed with the State of Minnesota as an Occupational Therapist and must maintain licensure.
• Must be registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• CPR/First Aid certified through American Red Cross required.
