Private School Principal

Our small private school is in search of an experienced Principal. The Principal serves as the educational leader for the school and responsible for ensuring the development of quality programs in a safe environment with a focus on retention and expansion of enrollment. The candidate must be able to administer sound fiscal practices, recruit and retain qualified staff and foster an open communication between school and community.
The successful candidate needs strong organizational skills, experience in monitoring and evaluating curricula, a clear criminal background and the ability to work beyond an 8-5 hour day. He/she will demonstrate integrity, fairness, mutual respect, and high ethical standards. The successful candidate will exercise courtesy and discretion; serve as a role model for staff and students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervises staff and vendor services
  • Review all lesson plans
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations and policies
  • Marketing to achieve maximum student enrollment
  • Conduct trainings and meetings for staff and community
  • Recruiting, hiring, supervising and evaluating staff members
  • Adherence to set budget
  • Continuous creation and distribution of newsletters, flyers and update all web information
  • Prepares and submits all reports in a timely manner
  • Comply with all components of the educational and behavioral program policies included compliance issues.
  • Keep all required licensing requirements up to date and seek continuous education to stay current in educating trends.
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree required, preferably in early childhood education, elementary education or related
  • At least five (5) years managing experience in a school or licensed childcare facility
  • Knowledge of Virginia Licensing Standards
  • Proficient in financial reporting and management of budgets
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in diverse populations.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop and retain quality staff
