HACU is partnering with the Office of the Comptroller of Currency to place a Library Science intern for the summer of 2019. We cover relocation travel and assist with finding housing. Here's more information about the position.

Mission:

The OCC charters, regulates, and supervises all national banks and federal savings associations as well as federal branches and agencies of foreign banks.

The mission of the OCC is to ensure that national banks and federal savings associations operate in a safe and sound manner, provide fair access to financial services, treat customers fairly, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

OCC and Office of Thrift Supervision

OTS supervised holding companies as well as thrift institutions. This resulted in OTS providing consolidated supervision for well-known firms like General Electric (GE), AIG, Inc., Ameriprise Financial, American Express, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch.

The OTS was the primary regulator of Federal Savings Associations (sometimes referred to as Federal thrifts). Federal savings associations include both Federal Savings Banks and Federal Savings and Loans. The OTS was also responsible for supervising Savings and Loan Holding Companies (SLHCs) and some state-chartered institutions. The intern will be assisting in collecting and managing the digitization and conversion of its legacy documents.
