MDOT Departmental Analyst (Trainee) 9-12 Director's Office

Job Description
At the 12 level:
This position serves as the recognized resource with the responsibility for analytical functions that support management and coordination of special projects assigned by the Department Director. This position is responsible for the research and development of the Director's presentations and speeches and arranging the Director's travel and reimbursements. This position also coordinates the Director's involvement with external and internal customers, including legislators, the Governor's Office, and other governmental agencies and industry partners. This position also provides consultation on politically sensitive phone calls and correspondence, including the Director's Fraud and Abuse Hotline.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Departmental Analyst 9
No specific type or amount is required.

Departmental Analyst 10
One year of professional experience.

Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Departmental Analyst 12
Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
Alternate Education and Experience
Departmental Analyst (Departmental Trainee) 9
Education - Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience-
Four years of experience as an advanced 9-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
OR
Three years of experience as an E9, E10, or E11-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
OR
Two years of experience as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification.
OR
Two years of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
OR
One year of experience as a second-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
*Paraprofessional classifications are those requiring an associate's degree or two years of college.
Educational Substitution -
College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.

Position is located at 425 West Ottawa Street, Lansing, Michigan.

Position may be filled at the Departmental Analyst Trainee 9, Departmental Analyst 9, 10, P11 or 12 level.
