Roadside Facilities Engineer

The Division of Transportation Systems Development (DTSD) Bureau of Highway Maintenance is looking for an experienced Roadside Facilities Engineer (Senior or Advanced) to lead the Bureau's roadside facilities design and construction plans.
This position is headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison.

This position works with Roadside Facility Engineers on program management, development and implementation of the Department of Transportation’s roadside facilities/SWEF programs providing engineering expertise to assist in the development of the statewide rest area, wayside and motor carrier safety and weight enforcement facility (SWEF) plans, and vehicle weigh in motion (VWIM) facilities.

This position provides engineering design and technical assistance to the Division of State Patrol for location, design and maintenance of motor carrier enforcement facilities. Provide coordination between the Division’s highway improvement program and the State Patrol’s motor carrier program. Provide engineering design and technical assistance relative to the operation and maintenance of rest area and wayside buildings, water supply systems and sewage systems.
