Project Manager

The Tollway is a user-fee system – no state or federal tax dollars are used to support maintenance and operations. Operations are funded by toll and concession revenues.
Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and Executive Staff, the Tollway is committed to achieving the following goals: increase collaboration with regional transportation and planning agencies, promote the regional economy, maintain financial integrity, foster environmental responsibility and sustainability, maintain the safety and efficiency of the Tollway system, further transparency and accountability, enhance customer service, and maintain public trust.
In support of this vision, the Project Manager oversees the delivery of projects associated with major business change programs and initiatives that focus on building relationships with internal stakeholders, drives efficiency and effectiveness through continuous improvement efforts, and ensures projects are scoped and resourced appropriately.
 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Project Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage a high volume of projects, including the following tasks: scheduling priorities, evaluating capacity, tracking progress, following up with key stakeholders and assessing the project results after its completion
  • Design, plan, mobilize, direct and monitor all aspects of project delivery, from inception to completion, including business requirements gathering and validation, resource estimation, schedule and budget assurance, updates and reporting
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and calendars
  • Provide meeting minutes and action items where needed
  • Tracks tasks assigned to the project team and prepare regular status reports
  • Manage projects to effectively forecast and/or resolve issues that may arise
  • Create, revise and audit programs, processes and policies to allow for greater efficiency
  • Build strong communication channels with internal stakeholders
  • Provide primary project management services focusing on effectiveness and continuous improvement while maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by senior leadership
QUALIFICATIONS: Education (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or a related field of study or the equivalent of years of experience in a related field
Skills and Experience (Required)
  • One year or more of experience in project management for a large complex or public sector company
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
Skills and Experience (Preferred)
  • Three years of experience in project management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
