This Direct Hire position is in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), in Silver Spring, MD.

CBER uses sound science and regulatory expertise to:
Protect and improve public and individual health in the United States and, where feasible, globally; Facilitate the development, approval of, and access to safe and effective biological products and promising new technologies; and Strengthen CBER as a preeminent regulatory organization for biological products.

Responsibilities
Serves as a Biologist and senior research assistant responsible for a full range of research experiments in support of the laboratory.
  • Researches and evaluates policy issues that are central to the mission of CBER in the area of biology.
  • Advises on compliance and regulatory policy developments and/or implementation of activities related to scientific reviews of license applications and amendments/supplements relating to biological products.
  • Interprets, adapts and applies numerous guidelines, precedents and scientific principles and practices to determine the most appropriate and feasible design solutions as well as possible alternatives.
  • Interprets and evaluates experimental data, drafts and/or collaborates with co-investigators to submit manuscripts to scientific journals and other related professional publications.
  • Presents original research data at scientific meetings.
