| Job Description |
Under limited supervision, the Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for diagnostic ultrasound imaging at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to produce quality images for the radiologist’s interpretation. The Ultrasound Technologist will demonstrate a professional approach in his/her work with emphasis on patient care, while still maintaining patient safety. Assume responsibility for designated area as required. Patients served include infant through adult-geriatric. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound educational program required. RDMS certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers required, or must successfully complete RDMS certification within two years of date of hire or transfer into position. Experience in vascular sonography desired. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required. |
